We each have our own personal connections to Nantucket Lighthouse School - memories and experiences shared during our children's most formative years. With a gift to this year’s Annual Fund, today's students and families, and others yet to come, will continue to form these important connections.
As we embark on the goal of reaching 100% participation in this year’s Annual Fund from our Board of Trustees, faculty and staff, and parents, your gift is more important than ever. Tuition alone does not cover the cost of educating each student at Nantucket Lighthouse School, and every year, through fundraising efforts like the Annual Appeal, Yuletide Fair, Garden Festival, and grants, we must fill the gap between tuition revenue and the School’s actual expenses.
With thanks to a generous matching gift from Nantucket Lighthouse School’s Board of Trustees, all #GivingTuesday online donations and pledges, made now through Friday, December 1, will be matched up to $25,000. Why does Nantucket Lighthouse School have an annual giving campaign?
Through the generosity of our donors, we continue to grow like our students. Nantucket Lighthouse School's Annual Fund provides essential support to the school's operating budget. Like all independent schools in the U.S., NLS relies on gifts to contribute to the operational gap - the difference between tuition and the actual cost of a Lighthouse education. The alternative, raising the tuition, would make education at Nantucket Lighthouse School prohibitive to many families.

In such a small school, each and every gift has a direct impact. The participation of every family is a measure of confidence in this amazing school and a show of gratitude for what NLS is offering to our children.
What does my gift help support?
Our fiscal calendar runs from July 1 to June 30, and your annual gifts have an immediate impact on the experience of our children. Your participation is crucial to sustaining our programming and faculty, awarding financial aid, and contributing to the maintenance of our schoolhouse. The Annual Fund bridges the gap between our true operating expenses and the revenue from tuition for this year’s budget.
