Extended Day
At Nantucket Lighthouse School, we imaginatively engage the whole child - head, heart, and hands - in the creative and challenging act of learning. The Nantucket Lighthouse School Extended Day program not only extends the school’s ability to provide quality programming but also extends the philosophy and creative approach of Nantucket Lighthouse School.
- Small, multi-age groups provide intimate and trusting settings and enable instructors to work and spend time with individual children.
- The social curriculum of Nantucket Lighthouse School is actively utilized to teach valuable lessons in empathy, cooperation, and conflict resolution.
- The warm and inviting Nantucket Lighthouse School classrooms provide children with a comfortable and supportive environment and a lively extension of home. Older and younger children have opportunities to work and play together.
- The Extended Day program is structured to include hands-on activities, artistic projects, and imaginative play indoors and out. Older children will also have built-in time to focus on homework with the support of the instructor.

Hours
The Extended Day Program runs Mondays through Fridays (except on holidays/faculty workdays) from 2:30 p.m. through 5:10 p.m.
Eligibility & Enrollment
All Nantucket students, preschool through Grade 5, are eligible to attend Extended Day, which is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Cost
The cost per child is $27.50 per session. Please note that we do not pro-rate on an hourly basis.
- Billing will take place through Sign-Up Genius at the time of signup and has a 5% + .50 cent processing fee.
- Parents will be billed $1 for each minute passed 5:10 p.m.
Complimentary Shuttle Service to Nantucket Boys & Girls Club
Available for Nantucket Lighthouse Students in Grades 1-5.
