Dear Lighthouse Families,
For the past few months, we have been preparing for the start of school. While the preparations are necessary, the excitement associated with them does not come close to matching the absolute joy that it is to meet and reconnect with the students during these first days.
For some of our students this is their first experience in school, for others it is their first time at Nantucket Lighthouse School, and for many, they are returning to a familiar place with a new teacher. In each of these situations, students require time and great care to help them acclimate to the daily routines and to feel part of the classroom and school community. The intentional work that our teachers do behind the scenes is extraordinary, including the hand-written notes, the personalized birthday charts and welcome signs, and the creative imagining of the curriculum and how to best engage each child in their learning. It is a tremendous honor to work with such a dedicated and thoughtful group of educators. Their individual and collective talents, passions, and perspectives enliven the experience of every child at Nantucket Lighthouse School.
We are beyond thrilled to be back in session and begin this year’s journey with you. Our doors are always open. Please do not hesitate to drop by or be in touch if you have any questions.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Warm regards,
Emily
Happy, Thoughtful Kids Grown Here
For the past 25 years, Nantucket Lighthouse School has remained steadfast in its commitment to nurturing both the intellectual and emotional growth of our students. This balanced approach has resulted in happy, well-adjusted children who are self-aware, compassionate, and critical thinkers.
As a licensed school counselor, working at a school that takes such a holistic and healthy approach to education is truly a dream come true. I aim to support your child in all aspects of their development—socially, emotionally, and academically.
This year, I look forward to partnering with you, your child, and their teachers to ensure a wonderful school year ahead. I invite you to watch this video, created by Yellow Productions, highlighting how I can support your child and family:
My door is always open as a safe and confidential space to share thoughts, feelings, or concerns. Please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Warmly,
Julia
